Who am I?

Hi, my name is Tobias Eisenschmidt.

I have a bachelor's degree in media computer science (first-class, honours) and are currently working on my Master of Science thesis about Model view controller frameworks.

Besides, I work as a freelance web developer for local and international companies, including Continental AG, SAE Institute and KIND Hörgeräte GmbH, as well as run my own web projects.

Motivation

For me, web development and programming in general isn't just a job or a hobbie, but a lifestyle:

I am always trying to create something new and useful that simplifies certain tasks, shares knowledge or simply entertains people - whether it's a management application for an university, a web show aggregator or a tutorial I wrote: Doing something useful and contributing it to society is the most rewarding part of my work. Furthermore, I am constantly learning new technologies and trying to improve myself in order to create better products.

Although this sounds super-nerdy, I grew up with Star Trek: The Next Generation and my lifestyle is heavily influenced by the Federation's ideology: Gaining and sharing new knowledge, overcoming personal discrepancies and sticking to morality in order to create a better world.
